NAID Organizes Awareness Program on AT for Supporting, Empowering PwDs

The National Academy of Information Technology for People with Disabilities (NAID) is organizing an awareness program on Assistive Technology (AT) for supporting and empowering Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), under the theme “Ideas by exceptional abilities.” The program targets PwDs, caregivers, innovators, developers, entrepreneurs, people working in special education, and researchers in AT uses.

The program includes a number of activities, the first of which is a webinar on the role of AT in empowering people with visual impairment, on February 23. The webinar is delivered by distinguished speakers and experts.

The webinar introduces the assistive technologies and tools that facilitate the lives of people with visual impairment, and will discuss the availability of such technologies, their effective use, and challenges including availability and affordability, as well as the needed improvement of such technologies. The webinar aims to raise awareness on the technological needs of people with visual impairment.
